YOU’VE BUILT A GOOD LIFE.
so WHY DON’T YOU FEEL BETTER?

MEET ELLIE KANE, LMHC, LPC EMDR & SOMATIC THERAPIST

YOU’VE DONE A LOT OF WORK ON YOURSELF. SOMETHING STILL FEELS STUCK.

You’ve spent years trying to understand yourself. Maybe you have already been to therapy. You know your patterns well enough to see them coming, sometimes even while they’re happening. And still, you find yourself reacting in ways you wish you could change.

If that’s you, nothing is wrong with your effort or your insight. Understanding something and changing how it feels are two different things. Much of what we carry, especially after painful or overwhelming experiences, lives in the body and the nervous system, below the reach of logic. It doesn’t shift just because we understand it.

That’s the part of the work I care most about. In trauma therapy, we go at a pace that feels safe to you, and we work with more than your thoughts, so that what you already know can finally begin to feel true.

But understanding something and changing how it feels are two different things.

YOU’RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE

You’re ready for therapy that goes beyond understanding your patterns and helps you begin changing them.

That’s the work we’ll do together.

How I work

Therapy should help you feel different—not just understand why you feel this way.

You may already understand why you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck. You might even be able to trace your patterns back to where they began. But understanding something and actually changing it are two different things.

My approach goes beyond talking about what’s happening. Together, we’ll work with the thoughts, emotions, experiences, and nervous system patterns that keep pulling you back into the same place.

I integrate EMDR, somatic therapy, mindfulness, and other evidence-based approaches to help you create change that you can actually feel in your everyday life.

YOU SPEND SO MUCH OF YOUR LIFE HOLDING IT ALL TOGETHER.
HERE, YOU DON’T HAVE TO.

in therapy with me…

We’ll dig deep.

You've probably already spent a lot of time thinking about why you feel the way you do. Here, we'll get curious about what's happening beneath the surface—not just what you think, but what your mind and body have learned to expect, protect against, and hold onto.

Together, we'll work with the experiences, emotions, and patterns underlying anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and trauma. I integrate approaches including EMDR therapy, somatic therapy, mindfulness, and nervous system work to help create lasting change.

You’re in charge.

You’re the expert on you. My role isn’t to push you somewhere you’re not ready to go—it’s to create a space where you feel safe enough to explore what’s there.

We’ll work collaboratively and move at a pace that feels right for you. You can slow down, change direction, ask questions, or say no at any point. I’ll bring guidance, curiosity, and expertise to the process, but you’ll always have a voice in where we go and how we get there

I’ll cheer you on.

Therapy should be one of the few places where you can exhale. If you’re used to being the high-achieving, responsible person everyone relies on, you don’t have to bring that version of yourself into our sessions.

You can talk too much, not know what to say, cry, laugh, swear, change your mind, or show up having no idea what you need that day. You don’t need to make yourself smaller or easier to understand. You get to be fully human here—and I’ll meet you there without judgment.

My background

Why this work matters to me

My path to becoming a therapist is deeply personal.

Long before I entered the field, I experienced firsthand how powerful the right therapeutic relationship and approach could be. Over the years, I explored many different forms of therapy, including traditional talk therapy, EMDR, somatic therapies, and other approaches that work with the connection between the mind and body.

Through my own experiences, I came to understand that healing can go beyond gaining insight into why we think, feel, or respond the way we do. Sometimes, even when we understand our patterns, changing them can feel incredibly difficult. What made the greatest difference for me was discovering approaches that helped create meaningful change on a deeper level.

Therapy was the best investment I have ever made. It changed my life and ultimately inspired me to become a therapist.

I made the decision to leave an established career and return to graduate school because I wanted to help others experience the kind of healing and growth that had been so meaningful in my own life. It wasn't an easy decision, but it was one I felt deeply passionate about.

Since then, I've dedicated myself to continued learning and specialized training in EMDR, somatic therapies, attachment, mindfulness, and other integrative approaches that recognize the connection between our experiences, emotions, bodies, and nervous systems.

While I value clinical training and evidence-based approaches, I also believe the relationship we build is just as important. I want therapy to feel human, collaborative, and individualized. I take the time to understand your experiences, what matters to you, and what you hope to gain from our work together.

Perhaps the most important thing my own experiences taught me is that our past doesn't have to define our future.

I believe meaningful, lasting change is possible, even when patterns have been with us for years. And sometimes, healing creates space for a life you once dreamed of—or one you never imagined was possible.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO HAVE IT ALL FIGURED OUT TO BEGIN.

Finding the right therapist matters. A free consultation gives us a chance to talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re hoping might be different, and whether working together feels like a good fit. You don’t need to know exactly what you need or have the right words for what you’re experiencing. We can start wherever you are
