Are you tired of everyone relying on you when you feel like you’re barely holding it together?
You’re the person people rely on. The “normal” one in the family. The responsible one. The one who keeps going, even when you’re exhausted and overwhelmed. Maybe you were even the kid no one had to worry about because you were always so “easy.”
But on the inside, you feel like you’re barely holding it together.
You’re tired of taking care of everyone around you while feeling unseen, unheard, or misunderstood. Somehow, you feel like you’re too much and not enough at the same time.
Your mind never really turns off. You replay conversations, worry about what other people think, second-guess your decisions, look to other people for reassurance or permission, and feel guilty when you’re not doing enough.
Maybe you’ve been to therapy before. You understand why you do the things you do. You recognize the patterns. You might even know exactly where they came from.
But knowing why you feel this way hasn’t helped you actually feel better.
And that can make it even harder to understand why you don’t feel better.
You’re tired of looking like you’re doing fine when you don’t feel fine.
You might be:
Overthinking conversations long after they’re over
Saying yes when you want to say no—and then feeling resentful or exhausted
Worrying about disappointing people or being misunderstood
Looking to other people for reassurance before trusting yourself
Feeling guilty when you rest or aren’t being productive
Holding yourself to standards you would never expect from anyone else
Feeling responsible for other people’s emotions
Accomplishing something and immediately moving on to what you need to do next
Wondering why you can understand all of this about yourself and still can’t seem to change it
You don’t need another person telling you to think positively, set better boundaries, or stop worrying so much.
You already know what you’re “supposed” to do. The hard part is actually feeling able to do it.
hi, I’m Ellie
I believe therapy should help you feel different—not just understand why you feel the way you do.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, self-aware adults who have already spent a lot of time trying to figure themselves out.
You may understand why you respond the way you do. You may recognize your patterns and even know where they came from.
But knowing isn't always enough to change how you feel.
That's where I believe therapy can be different.
My approach goes beyond traditional talk therapy.
My approach integrates EMDR therapy, somatic and nervous-system focused therapy, and attachment-based work. Rather than relying on one method, we'll pay attention to the connection between your thoughts, emotions, body, relationships, and past experiences..
My work with EMDR also includes advanced approaches such as EMDR 2.0 and the Flash Technique. I may also incorporate mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) when they can support the work we're doing.
Sometimes that means understanding the past. Sometimes it means noticing what's happening in your body in the present. And sometimes it means working directly with memories, beliefs, emotions, or patterns that remain stuck—even when you logically know better.
The goal isn't simply to understand your patterns. It's to help create meaningful change so life can actually feel different.
SPECIALIZING IN:
01
Anxiety & overthinking
Your mind rarely turns off. You may replay conversations, second-guess your decisions, seek reassurance, or constantly worry that you've done something wrong. Therapy for anxiety can help you quiet the mental noise, understand what's underneath it, and begin trusting yourself again.
02
trauma & ptsd
Trauma doesn't always look like one overwhelming event. It can also come from experiences that left you feeling unsafe, unseen, invalidated, or alone. Using trauma-informed approaches including EMDR and somatic therapy, we can work with experiences that continue to affect how you feel, relate, and respond today.
03
people-pleasing & perfectionism
You're used to being the dependable one—the person who anticipates what everyone else needs and tries to get everything right. But constantly managing other people's expectations can leave you exhausted, resentful, or unsure of what you actually want.
Therapy can help you set boundaries, trust yourself, and begin separating your worth from how much you do for everyone else.
